A self portrait - Indonesia
Ajesh is a multidisciplinary artist who specialises in site-specific installations and performance art. A graduate of Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, he specialised in Painting (BFA), before he set out to explore the possibilities of Art in Public Spaces. Later, he graduated with a Distinction in Master of Fine Art from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, UK, and he found his calling to capture interventions in natural environments through his love for nature. He has travelled far and wide creating art at multiple locations and connecting with people at the same time.
A majority of his works are non-permanent art installations and site-specific performances in natural spaces. Combined with his fervent passion for theatre, Ajesh has included his physical self as part of his art interventions. The fruition of that facet is captured through his art expressions without a defined stage and audience.
Ajesh is currently settled in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala after spending more than 30 years away from here. He has been a teacher at various international schools in India, Thailand and Malaysia in the past, and has conducted art and drama workshops in many South-East Asian countries. Art, performance, environmental interventions, and teaching are now existence’s extensions.
